Symptom

  • ASE error log reports messages on licensing status including :
SySAM: Invalid license file syntax.
SySAM: FLEXnet Licensing error:-2,397

 

Depending on the license status of ASE prior to these messages :

  • ASE starts in grace or support grace mode or
  • ASE will not start if there is no valid license or the grace period has expired
