2044861 - Server boot sequence error messages: "Attempt to set zfs file to Direct i/o mode failed." and “The device does not support directio.” - SAP ASE

Symptom

  • If ASE has been installed on a ZFS file system, the following error messages may be returned during ASE bootup:

    Attempt to set zfs file '/newzfs/chiachen/sp121/data/master.dat' to Direct i/o mode failed, error: Inappropriate ioctl for device
    The device does not support directio. '/newzfs/chiachen/sp121/data/master.dat' will be activated using dsync instead of directio.
