Symptom

  • Performance degradation
  • sp_sysmon shows high spinlock contention
  • sp_cacheconifg does not match with the "global cache partition number" configuration: sp_cacheconfig shows a cache configured with 8 partitions while "global cache partition number" is set to 16.
