2053020 - Excel import PDM Column: error with data type Length and Precision - SAP PD 16.5

Symptom

  • Attempting to import a table and columns from spreadsheet into a PDM.
  • One of the columns has a DECIMAL(12,2) datatype.
  • When importing, I specify Length of 12 and Precision of 2, but the import process returns the following error:

Error: Could not set attribute Precision for Column 'Table 1.My Decimal' with value '2' (Cannot set value '2' for attribute Precision of Column 'Table 1.My Decimal': Precision cannot be set to this value)
