2055757 - Error When Running Program File: "Authentication failed because we can not connect to the REXEC server"

Symptom

  • When running a program file (shell script) in CMC on a BI Platform installed on Linux server, it fails with the following error message:

    Authentication failed because we can not connect to the REXEC server. Confirm that the REXEC server is available on the specified system and that your user credentials are correct.

  • SAP BusinessObjects Business Intelligence (BI) Platform 4.0/4.1
  • Redhat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) Server (in this example we are using version 6.4 Santiago)
  • In this article, we use the following shell script as an example, it simply disables the CrystalReports2013ProcessingServer

    • #!/bin/bash

      /build/home/boeuser/BI41/sap_bobj/ccm.sh -disable BI41RH6.CrystalReports2013ProcessingServer -cms BI41RH6:6400 -username Administrator -password Password1 -authentication secEnterprise
