Symptom
When creating a multi-paged crosstab report within a main report and a subreport, the main report returns correctly but the subreport only shows the first page when viewed from the main report.
Environment
- SAP Crystal Reports 2008
- SAP Crystal Reports 2011
- SAP Crystal Reports 2013
Reproducing the Issue
-
In Crystal Reports, create a report off any data source.
-
Add a multipaged subreport on the report.
-
When previewing the report, only the first page is visible on the main report.
Cause
This is by design of the product. A subreport is an OLE object and cannot span across several pages.
Resolution
- Workaround 1:
Drill into the subreport to see all pages.
- Workaround 2:
Insert a group on either the column field or row field. Then insert the cross-tab into the Group Header or Group Footer. This will work if the subsequent group level cross-tabs don't contain more columns than can fit on the page.
