2057918 - What are the units in the equation? block_size*sqm_page_size*sqm_cache_size* - SAP RS

Symptom

  • The calculated cache size (block_size*sqm_page_size*sqm_cache_size*1024) cannot exceed 2047 MB.
  • If an attempt is made to configure the cache size over the limit, Rep Server will crash during start up.  This fix checks the calculated cache size and reverts to default values if it exceeds the limit and will then give warnings in RS log.
  • Reconfigure the block_size, sqm_page_size, sqm_cache_size so the calculated cache size (block_size*sqm_page_size*sqm_cache_size*1024) is less than 2047*1048576.
  • What are the units here?
  • The underlying question is  - can it be changed from the defaults if:
  • Reconfigure the block_size(16), sqm_page_size(4), sqm_cache_size(16) so the calculated cache size (block_size*sqm_page_size*sqm_cache_size*1024) is less than 2047*1048576
