Symptom

  • When running on a virtual machine
  • Attempting to obtain hardware address of Network Card (hostID) in order to generate SySAM license
  • The hostid returned in invalid and shows all 0s :

    lmutil lmhostid returns: The FlexNet host ID of this machine is "000000000000".
    cpuinfo returns: The FlexNet host ID of this machine is "000000000000".
