2058258 - HANA database backup fails with "allocation failed" error

Symptom

The data backups of your HANA database are failing due to following error:

[447] backup could not be completed, [1000002] Allocation failed ;
$size$=536870912; $name$=ChannelUtils::copy; $type$=pool;
$inuse_count$=0; $allocated_size$=0

Checking the HANA trace directory (usr/sap/<SID>/HDBxx/<hostname>/trace) you see a lot of out-of-memory dumps gernerated for the statisticsserver service:

statisticsserver_<hostname>.3<instance_id>05.rtedump.<timestamp>.<pid>.oom.trc
