2059472 - Crystal RAS fails to start on RedHat Linux

Symptom

Following an install of the BusinessObjects server software on a Unix environment,  Crystal Report Application Server ( RAS ) fails to start.

  • In the install log you will see errors such as this:
    libXext.so.6: cannot open shared object file
  • The registry_repair_script40.sh from KBA 1612745  fails with errors similar to below:
    "Error while loading shared libraries: libXext.so.6: cannot open shared object files: No such file or directory"
