Symptom

  • SAP IQ fails to start with the following message:

Exception Thrown from hos_bio.cxx:685, Err# 21, tid 6 origtid 6
O/S Err#: 9, ErrID: 518 (hos_bioexception);
SQLCode: -1006080, SQLState: 'QBA80', Severity: 14
[20318]: Bad file handle passed to OS on file <filename>

  • There was an s_buf::Read() error during s_bufman::Find()
  • Exception from s_blockmap::GetBlockEntryInfo()
