2062926 - SMP Patch failed on 2.3 Data Tier with error "Cannot retrieve the RMI port number from the existing SCC installation."

Symptom

  • This is occurring on the data tier node during an upgrade from an existing version
  • The log for the install shows the following:
    • SAP Control Center install location found is C:\SAP\SCC-3_2
    • Cannot retrieve the RMI port number from the existing SCC installation. Update cannot proceed. Exiting...
  • The Registry contains a key for the SCC Install Location:
    1. Open up RegEdit in the system
    2. Navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE -> SOFTWARE -> Wow6432Node -> SAP -> MobilePlatform
    3. Client on the folder icon with the name 2.3
    4. Look for a key called SCCInstallLocation
