2065982 - UME does not show all LDAP users - Netweaver Java

Symptom

When searching for users or groups in the User Management Engine (UME) the following warning message appears : "Last search returned <N> elements. This exceeded the defined max hits of <N>. Narrow search criteria and search again."  and the <N> is smaller than set in the parameters ume.admin.search.maxhits and ume.admin.search_maxhits_warninglevel as per KBA 1644322.

The following warning appears when collecting traces:   

javax.naming.SizeLimitExceededException: [LDAP: error code 4 - Search operation hit size limit. Found xxx Entries (0 Aliases), xxx Attributes, xxx Values.]; remaining name ''
