Symptom

  • System role sa_serverprivs_role dropped and recreated
  • Role id (srid) of sa_serverprivs_role in the syssrvroles table in the master database is 100 or greater
  • Execution of:

sp_restore_system_role 'sa_serverprivs_role'

    fails with ASE error 265:

Msg 265, Level 16, State 1:
Server 'SYBASE', Procedure 'sp_restore_system_role', Line 202:
Insufficient result space for explicit conversion of INT value '100' to a VARCHAR field.
