2070238 - Invalid column decimal scale specifier while while running or validating a job E.G. DECIMAL(5,10), SAP Data Services 4.2

Symptom

  • Data services user creates a table/view with an invalid column decimal scale specifier.
  • Error:
    • The database error message is <SQL submitted to database <> resulted in error <[SAP AG][LIBODBCHDB DLL][HDBODBC] General error; 319 decimal scale specifier is out of range: 10: (0 to 5)>. The SQL submitted is <CREATE TYPE "BODS_ACQUISITION"."DS_TT_18A41" AS TABLE ( "AIColumn1" VARCHAR (256) ,"AIColumn2" DECIMAL(5, 10)…     while running a DS job against HANA
