2072234 - Permissions - Column-level permissions for goal table fields - Goal Management

Symptom

Table column permissions allow you to get more granular and define permissions for columns in the table.

Environment

SAP SuccessFactors Goal Management

Resolution

You can apply permissions to individual columns in fields like Tasks, Milestones, and Calculated Ratings, where the information is displayed in a table format. For example, in the Tasks field, you can make the Target Date column and Task column editable by a manager but read-only to the direct report.

To add column-level permissions, it will be necessary to do a configuration change in your Goal Plan template XML.

In order to make changes in the XML, please contact your Implementation Partner. If you don't have a Partner, you can find for SAP Certified Partners via the SAP Partner Finder or, alternatively, speak with your Account Executive or Customer Engagement Executive about Professional Services options.

You may also refer to the Goal Management Implementation Guide. Here's the direct link on this topic (requires login).

Note: for Team Goals & Group Goals, although it does not consist with personal goal, when you grant write access to the column field of a metric-lookup-table, the specified role should be able to edit the entire metric-look-up table with write permission giving them edit/write access to some if not all columns of the table. This is by-design behavior.
