2072749 - How to transfer Goals to another user - Goal Management

Symptom

  • This Knowledge Base article outlines how goals are handled when someone changes jobs, goes on a leave of absence, leaves the organization, or is terminated.
  • This same methodology also applies to other situations where one would like to transfer objectives between employees.

Environment

SAP SuccessFactors Goals Management

Resolution

  • All goal details, including the alignment information, are retained within the system for any user changes.
  • For people who have left the company, the goals of the departed user can be transferred, by the application administrator, to new owners of the goals (i.e. goals can be distributed to different people).
  • For users who changed jobs, such as via a promotion, the original goals can be edited to reflect new requirements of the position.
  • Other goals can be transferred to appropriate new goal owners.

To Transfer Goals the Admin will need to navigate to:

  1. Go to Admin Center> Goal Management > Transfer Goal Between Users
  2. Enter/Find Username to Transfer (goals) From Employee
  3. Enter/Find Username to Transfer (goals) To Employee
  4. Click "Find Goals"
  5. Select the Goal(s) you would like to Transfer by checking the appropriate boxes beside the goals
  6. Click “Transfer”
  7. Upon successful transfer a message will appear at the top such as this:

    "1 goal(s) successfully transferred."

Note: Any number of goals can be transferred from one user to another. If you transfer goals from a terminated employee to a new employee this process removes any tracking of the goals from the terminated employee. Therefore, in the event of legal activity after termination, you cannot pull the goal plan for the employee. The goals will be gone.

This feature is not offered for Career Development Goals.
