Symptom
How to enable the LMS to check for scheduling conflicts when users are enrolling in Classes
"Image/data in this KBA is from SAP internal systems, sample data, or demo systems. Any resemblance to real data is purely coincidental"
Environment
SAP SuccessFactors Learning
Reproducing the Issue
- Logon as a user in Learning
- Search for an Instructor Led Course in the catalog to register into the Class of that Item
- Click on "Register" for one of the Classes for that Item
- The Register button is grayed out, and there are "Registration not available" and "Scheduling Conflict" warnings
Cause
There is a configuration which prevents users from creating scheduling conflicts whenever they have two classes at the same time. And there is also a separate setting that prevents Admins/Managers from creating these conflicts as well.
Resolution
The scheduling conflicts check can be turned on/off from the Learning Administration:
- Go to System Administration > Application Administration > User Settings:
- If the settings "Prevent Users from creating user schedule conflicts" and/or "Prevent Admins and Managers from creating user schedule conflicts." are UNCHECKED
- It allows the user (and/or admins/managers) to override the scheduling conflict and enroll into multiple Schedule offerings that are scheduled for the same date and time
- If the settings "Prevent Users from creating user schedule conflicts" and/or "Prevent Admins and Managers from creating user schedule conflicts." are CHECKED
- The application displays these warnings, and does not allow the class registration because of the conflict
- After configuring the settings for your business need, click on "Apply Changes" to save the configuration as desired.
