Symptom
- A spid is unexpectedly terminated
- When running 'dbcc resource' command
- ASE errorlog contains a timeslice message and
- Stack containing functions which can include : prPMCTRL, prPMCTRL_list, prRESOURCE, d_resource, d_callresource or exec_dbcc
Sample messages from ASE errorlog :
kernel timeslice -#, current process infected at (_memcpy+0x74)
timeslice error: spid # exhausted its 'time slice' of 100 milliseconds and additional 'cpu grace time' of # ticks (# milliseconds). It has been marked for termination.
kernel SQL causing error : dbcc resource
followed by a stacktrace containing functions :
prPMCTRL+0x9c
prPMCTRL_list+0xf8
prRESOURCE+0x8a0
d_resource+0x48
d_callresource+0x4
exec_dbcc+0x1ce4
