Resolution

Feature Merge similar Variable Pay History records - VRP-3163
Configuration Type This is an opt in feature
Feature description If an employee has multiple history records, so long as all data field values are the same, the system will merge them into one history record.
Enablement Administrators can enable this feature if required via: Compensation Home> Select Template> Plan Setup> Employee Central Settings> Merge Similar Employee Central Records
Usage Overview

Option Disabled

Within the employee history there will be more than one assignment for employees back-to-back. These may not be necessary for Bonus calculation.

Option Enabled

Within the employee history there would be one assignment for the bonus period per employee. Only users which are impacted by the incentive calculation
period will populate in the history.

If Merge Similar Employee Central Records is set to Yes and the history element from the data model is configured with merge="false", the system will not check different values for any fields when merging similar records.

If the mapped EC field is using a picklist, the system will save the picklist ID. During EC history processing, the system will save the option ID. On the Edit Employee History page or Employee History Data Report, the system will translate this ID into a label. If this field is used as a lookup value in business goals, the system uses the option ID value instead of the label.

After merging, the latest value will be used for this field and the fields in the history element need to be merge="true". This can be defined in Manage Business Configuration as well as in the data model directly.
