2078754 - Error Creating A Virtual Table When The Column Size Field Is MAX

Symptom

When creating a virtual table where the remote source is MS SQL Server 2008 to SQL Server 2016 with the the following data types:

  • nvarchar(MAX)
  • varchar(MAX)
  • varbinary(max)

The following errors occur:

SAP DBTech JDBC: [338]: zero-length columns are not allowed: LONGTEXT: line 1 col 209 (at pos 208)
or
ERROR: zero-length columns are not allowed
