Symptom
- The Manual Overall Rating has a value that does not match the calculated rating.
- The manual rating is auto-populated even if the user has not entered a rating.
- Users are reporting they can see the manual rating has a value, even though the manager has not yet entered a manual overall rating.
Environment
SAP SucessFactors Performance Management
Cause
- This is likely caused because the form has override-unrated set to true.
- If this value is set to true, and no manual rating has been entered, then the overall rating will be replaced by the calculated rating.
- The override-unrated option only applies if "manual-rating="true"" and "override-unrated="true"".
Note: When the system overwrites the manual rating, the calculated rating at the time becomes the manual rating and if there are changes on the ratings afterwards the "override-unrated" will not be triggered anymore.
For example, if the manual overall rating has already be overwritten, and the form is routed back to update the ratings, then after the form is sent to next step again, the manual overall rating will not be overwritten with the new calcualted rating.
Resolution
- If configured in form, the "override-unrated" option will enter a value if there is a calculated rating and no manual rating.
- To prevent the ratings from being overwritten prematurely, the form would need to be carefully configured to make sure no ratings which are part of the calculated rating are generated from items such as Metric Lookup Tables.
- Is possible to disable override-unrated by setting override-unrated="false"
