2079179 - Revenue Recognition Run - Application Runtime Exception

Revenue recognition run finishes with errors.

In the Messages tab of the run, the following message is displayed: 'During run the error 'Application runtime exception; report an incident' occurred'.

SAP Business ByDesign

1. In the Cost and Revenue workcenter navigate to Periodic Tasks - Revenue Recognition.
2. Press New - Revenue Recognition Run.
3. Enter all obligatory data (Company, Period/Year) and then press Start Now to immediately execute the run.
4. After several minutes a message appears stating the run time error: 'During run the error 'Application runtime exception; report an incident' occurred'.

This error occurs due to a lack of memory when the run has to process a very high volume of data.

This issue has been taken into consideration for performance improvement in future SAP Business ByDesign releases.

At the moment this error can be prevented if the revenue recognition run is executed for each set of books separately:

1. In the Cost and Revenue workcenter, navigate to Periodic Tasks - Revenue Recognition.
2. Press New - Revenue Recognition Run.
3. Enter all obligatory data (Company, Period/Year).
4. In the Set of Books field select one set of books.
5. Press Start Now to immediately execute the run.
6. The run will finish without errors.
7. Repeat steps 1 to 6 for each set of books.

The Revenue Recognition run can also be scheduled to be performed after the business hours.
