Symptom
- “Original Start Date” field is used to store the very 1st Hire date for an Employee. When Hiring and Employee via the Add New Employee (or the Manage Pending Hires/Manage Inactive Employee) wizard(s), the field “Original Start Date” located under Employment Information, gets populated with the 1st Hire record Effective Start Date that an Employee account receives when he/she is Hired into the system.
- This initial hire date comes from the Hire Date field. From that point onwards, if the employee is then Terminated and Rehired, their Hire Date field under Employment Details will be updated to display the Employees latest Hire record type’s Effective Start Date (in this scenario, the system will display the Effective Start Date of the Rehire record for that Employee).
