2080919 - java.sql.SQLException: There is insufficient heap memory to allocate % bytes -SAP ASE

Symptom

Your Jconnect application, streaming LOB or TEXT, is generating error "Caused by: java.sql.SQLException: There is insufficient heap memory to allocate 458 bytes. Please increase configuration parameter 'heap memory per user' or try again when there is less activity on the system".

However, when you monitor 'heap memory per user' using sp_monitorconfig, you don't see this setting maxing out. You may also notice that even you have configured the value 3x the default as recommended in the manuals, the error persists.

You are using the most recent Jconnect 7.07 version.
