2081147 - You Have Leave Requests in Approval, But No Approval Task Sent to The Approver

You have noticed that, although employees have submitted leave requests for approval, no approval task is generated to the approvers.

SAP Business Bydesign

1. Go to Home work center.
2. Go to My Requests subview.
3. The leave request in in approval, but no approval task was sent to the expected approver.

This is due to a mismatch in the Business Configuration scoping and the fine-tuning settings: the scoping question "Would you like to send an explicit approval task for a leave request to the manager?" is switched off, but the time type is marked as Approval from Line Manager Required in the Time Types fine-tuning activity under Maintain Approval Options.

There are two possible solutions to this issue:

a. If you want leave requests to be activated without any approval

1. Go to the Business Configuration work center.
2. Access the Overview work center view.
3. Open the relevant fine-tuning activity for the country/region affected (i.e. Time Types - UK).
   
4. Access the Maintain Approval Options link.
5. Set approval option as Send Notification to Line Manager.

With this setting, leave requests will be activated as soon as they are released by the employees and the line manager will only receive a notification. For this, please ensure to have the scoping question "Would you like to just send a notification of a leave request to the manager?' added to implementation project's scope.

b. If you want leave requests to be approved by the line manager

1. Go to the Business Configuration work center.
2. Access the Implementation Projects.
3. Select the First Implementation project.
4. Click the Edit Project Scope button.
5. Navigate to step 4 - Questions.
6. Expand the Human Resources scoping element, then Time Administration.
7. Select the Approval option.
8. Enable scoping question "Would you like to send an explicit approval task for a leave request to the manager?"
9. Click Next to navigate to step 5 - Review.
10. Click Finish.
