Resolution

Applicant/Candidate:

  • A person who creates a profile and who might submit an application to an open requisition. The terms "Applicant" and "Candidate" are used interchangeably in this document.
     

Application:

  • The set of information that specifically ties the applicant to the requirements of an open requisition. This can include pre-screening question responses, resume, and any other information that is not included in the applicant's profile.
  • There could be multiple job application templates for one instance.
     

Profile:

  • A representation of a person, kind of like an online resume. Employees are already set up with a Live Profile. Live Profiles are defined using the Succession Management Data Model (SMDM). Candidate Profiles exist for all potential applicants in the system, including existing employees as well as external applicants. Candidate Profiles are defined using the

Candidate Profile Template (CPT):

  • The xml required to define the data to be captured in the Candidate Profile. Specific elements in the CPT may be linked to data elements in the Employee Live Profile template to facilitate consistent information for employees. Updating these fields in the CPT will automatically update the linked fields in the Employee Data Model for internal candidates. External candidates who do not have an Employee Live Profile will have to enter this information manually.
  • There is only one singe candidate template for one instance.
     

Candidate Data Model (CDM):

  • The xml required to define the application space to be captured when a candidate applies for an open position. Some of the standard system fields that are used in the CDM are linked to standard CPT fields. Updating these fields in the CDM will automatically update the same fields in the CPT.
     

Recruiter:

  • A recruiter is a specific person who is involved in the sourcing, screening, and processing of potential candidates through the interview process at a company. Typically, there is a specific person who is the recruiter for a given open requisition. However, in this document, we will use the term recruiter to mean anyone who is allowed to review and see requisitions and candidates.
