Environment
- Recruiting Management.
Resolution
-
Certain organizations want to consolidate all the recruiting abilities in to one user. Meaning, this user has the ability to read and edit all existing Job Requisitions and be able to change statuses of candidate's application.
-
There is no official term for this type of configuration, but most scenarios call this user the Recruiting "Super User". The concept of this configuration is simple. As of today(June 30th 2010), Recruiting has the following roles (there will be more roles in the future releases):
-
Recruiter [R]
-
Approver [V]
-
Sourcer [S]
-
Hiring Manager [G] ([GM = Hiring Manager's Manager)
-
Super User [J]
-
Recruiting Coordinator [T]
-
-
Recruiting is designed to be very flexible. These names do not mean much. In fact, they can all be renamed. The meaning behind these different roles depend on what they are allowed to read and what they are allowed to write (edit/add). These definitions were configured by your Implementation Consultant or a Technical Support Engineer (Customer Success).
-
To create a Super User, we must re-purpose one of these roles (You can rename the role super user). This Super User role can be configured to be able to read and write Job Req's and the Application. Then you designate one user to be assigned to this super user role. The key is to ALWAYS assign this user to this Super user role.
-
One helpful hint is to take advantage of our dynamic groups function. We can assign a dynamic group to this Super User role and then create a dynamic group with only one user (the designated super user). This way, when the originator creates the Job Requisition, he/she is only allowed to assign the designated super user to this role.
One caveat to this is that the Originator, or approvers or the Job Requisition must pro-actively assign the super user to this role. At this time there is no possibility to automatically assign users to a role.
