Symptom
- Users notice that their queries are blocked
- DBA notices that the CHECKPOINT process has hung.
- ASE errorlog shows errors similar to
Error: 1204, Severity: 17, State: 2 occurred for User '<User name>'. Client IP address is '<IP Address>'.

ASE has run out of LOCKS. Re-run your command when there are fewer active users, or contact a user with System Administrator (SA) role to reconfigure ASE with more LOCKS.
ckpt2: Checkpoint process temporarily out of locks.
- Some times error 3914 is reported as well
Error: 3914, Severity: 26, State: 1
Illegal internal transaction status. This is an internal system error.
