2082095 - Field types in the application template - Recruiting

• A field in the application template is set as text. However now we want to change in Boolean (Yes/No) possible answer. The problem is that we want to keep the old answers and have the new ones as well. Is it possible to change the type of the field?

• Recruiting Management.

• Changing a type of a field is not supported. Any text would be lost and the old applications could not work properly, so it is not possible simply change the type of the field.
   
   However there is a good workaround for this:

• To create a new field with the same question as label but of type Boolean (Yes/No).
   
• To hide the old field to the new applicants.
   
• To keep visible both fields for the recruiters.
   

  Use cases:

•   For example a question like “Do you have driving license?” Was configured initially as free text answer, while now we only want to have Yes/No to better filter candidates.
   
•   To create new programs or make changes to existing programs we recommend you work with an approved SAP partner.
