2083038 - SUP 2.2 application node stops with JVM dump and error: java.lang.OutOfMemoryError: PermGen space - SUP

Symptom

  • One Sybase Unwired Platform (SUP) 2.2 SP05 cluster application node stopped due to a Java Virtual Machine (JVM) dump (.hprof) with an exception "Caused by: java.lang.OutOfMemoryError: PermGen space" although the PermGen size has been set at 512 MB.
  • It seems that the Garbage Collection does not work properly.
