2084854 - Rating Sources - Ratings Missing Labels or Not Showing as Correct Number - Compensation

Symptom

  • PM Rating on compensation worksheets is showing as decimals or numeric values instead of text.
  • Text value of the rating is different from the one on the rating scale. This value is not part of the rating scale used.

"Image/data in this KBA is from SAP internal systems, sample data, or demo systems. Any resemblance to real data is purely coincidental."

Reproducing the Issue

Cause

  • The rating pulled into the workheet does not have a number physically defined in the rating scale
  • The worksheet is pulling the matrix grid rating scale (Admin tools > System Properties > Matrix Grid Rating Scales) instead of the default PM overall ratings
  • A Rating Type other than the default is selected, and the matrix grid rating scale values are different from the PM form rating scale

Resolution

The rating pulled into the workheet does not have a number physically defined in the rating scale

For example, your scale is defined as 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, and you have labels for each value. However, if a person gets a 2.5, only 2.5 displays without any label since there is no label defined in the rating scale.

This is normal behavior.

The worksheet is pulling the matrix grid rating scale instead of the default PM overall ratings

If the Rating type is overallCompetency, overallObjective, overallPerformance or overallPotential, the value is pulled from the matrix grid rating scale. Ensure the matrix grid rating scale has the same labels and values that you have for the PM form.

Rating Type other than the default is selected, and the matrix grid rating scale values are different from the PM form rating scale

  • Ensure the values of both the PM rating scale and matrix grid rating scale are the same.
  • If you do not want ratings from any other section and want the default overall rating, use Rating Type: DefaultThis will take the values from the default rating scale (Rating Scale > Default Scale). Ensure the values of the default scale are the same as the PM scale.
