2085249 - “ERROR: failed to open file” during step “runR3ldctl” on System Copy Export

Symptom

During the export of the system, the installer (SWPM / SAPinst) stops with the following error (error extracted from sapinst_dev.log file):

CJS-30023 Process call 'E:\usr\sap\<SID>\DVEBMGS00\exe\R3ldctl.exe -p <EXPORT DUMP DIRECTORY>\ABAP\DATA
-l R3ldctlExport.log' exits with error code 2. For details see log file(s) R3ldctlExport.log.

The error code 2 is generic code to represent an issue with the execution of R3ldctl. For further details about the issue, analyze the file R3ldctlExport.log.

The R3ldctlExport.log file can have several entries. However, in the end of the file you can find following issue:

ERROR: failed to open file "<EXPORT DUMP DIRECTORY>\ABAP\DATA\SAPSTR.LST"

* Note SAPSTR.LST is just an example. This problem can occur to any other <file>.LST
