2085432 - Position Import Notification: Failed to update position because it's in soft-deleted status - Succession Management

Symptom

After an import of Positions, an email notification is sent to the job owner with the results, and the following error message is produced:

         "Failed to update position because it's in soft-deleted status. The position code is xxxxxxxx."

Environment

SAP SuccessFactors Succession & Development

Resolution

  • This error message indicates the position that you are trying to update has been deleted in your instance and it is in soft-deleted status (not purged).
  • To update this position in your instance, first you would need to reactivate it, by using the action "REACTIVATE" in the Position file for this position code, before applying any changes to the soft-deleted position.
