  • Setting Up the Company Organization Chart
  • Configuring the Company Organization Chart; and
  • Using the Company Organization Chart

The guide can be found here: Organization Charts in SAP SuccessFactors

Data Source:

Additional notes:

  • Please see SAP Help Guide for setting up and using the Organization Chart.
  • The current view on the Org Chart will be the hierarchy that will appear upon exporting it. There is a need to move up one level and make it appear on UI in order for the Export to capture it.
  • There are three display options that the users viewing the Org Chart can choose:
    1. All Reports
    2. Direct Reports Only
    3. Matrix Reports Only

FAQ & Troubleshooting Org Chart Common Issues:

  1. Changes have not taken effect in Org chart
When any change is made to the Org Chart, a job is triggered to update the Hierarchy, so please allow up to 30 minutes for this job to execute. The job can be viewed in Provisioning directly (it is called “Generate LnR” within Monitor Jobs) by SAP Support and/or SAP Partners.
If you need the changes to take effect immediately, you can perform an Employee Export/Import to force the job execution. For more details please review: 2227861 - Employee-Manager Relationship Not Reflected in Org Chart - Common Configuration Issues

  2. Error message "Cannot retrieve data"
Please see KBA: 2227861 - Employee-Manager Relationship Not Reflected in Org Chart - Common Configuration Issues

  3. Error Message "invalid hierarchy data found"
Please see KBA: 2577131 - Invalid hierarchy data found on My Team tile

  4. Is it possible to to hide Title in Org Chart?
Yes, it can be hidden in Provisioning's Company Settings by SAP Support and/or SAP Partners. Please see KBA: 2679545 - How to hide "Job Title" in People Search and Organization Charts - SuccessFactors

  5. Some user(s) cannot see the Title of other employee(s)
This is also permission-related. Ensure to grant the correct permission: Employee Data > Enable "View" permission to "Title" field.

  6. Is it possible to hide the Display Options in Org Chart like "View Direct Reports Only"?
    No, it is not possible.

  7. Why is the display of direct reportees for different managers different in legacy org chart (few managers have their direct reportees being displayed vertically whereas few have their reportees being displayed horizontally) ?
While using Legacy org chart ,if the number of direct reportees is greater than 15(A team of more than 15 members is considered large ), the display is adjusted. So, the reportees are displayed vertically in a compact mode. But, when the number of reportees is less than 15, the org chart displays direct reportees horizontally.

For the Latest Org Chart, the reports are displayed vertically.
  8. Is it possible to remove the toggle "Administrative Reporting Structure"?

No, this feature is hardcored and not controlled by RBP.
