2086015 - Query Workspace, Report Designer - Monthly Time Models - WFA

Symptom

  • Is it possible to view monthly results for the last 3 years , using a 'Month Time Model', in a query/report

Environment

  • SAP SuccessFactors Workforce Analytics

Resolution

A Custom Month model does not currently exist for 36 months.

However, there is a work around, by either selecting Calendar or Fiscal Years and their descendants in Query workspace.

To Create the Query

  1. Go into Query workspace and create a new query. (Query can also be created in Report Designer)
  2. Select the required Year Model (in this example it will be Calendar Years).
  3. In a query, select other items required (i.e Organisational Unit, Measure etc.)
  4. Then once this is completed, go into 'Show Design View'

To Customise the Time Model

(Calendar Year dimension in this example)

  1. Once in Design View
  2. Click on the Edit link for the Year time model you have selected (Default will show 'All Time Periods'  'All descendants to distance of 1')
  3. You will need click on the 'Remove' link (down further towards the bottom of the section) to remove the Default (All Time Periods, All descendants to distance of 1).
  4. Under the 'All Time Periods' node, click on the plus and expand the dimension out.  Then from the drop down menu, beside where it displays 'Qualifier:', select 'All descendants to distance'.
  5. Where it displays 'Distance:' change this to 2,  to go to the month level.  (ie. Year - 2008 (is the Selected element or node), distance of 1 is the Quarters, distance of 2 is the months).
  6. Then choose the years, one at a time, that you want to include, and click on the 'Add' button.
  7. Once all the years are selected, click on the little black arrow-head (pointing up) to close this section.  If you click on the 'OK' button you will get a warning message - click on Cancel if you get this.

Once the arrow-head has been clicked on, it will take you back to the design view, then click on the OK button, and you will be taken to the table view, which displays your query results.

This same process, can be used for any dimension/filter onsite.
