Symptom

  • Why does some cell show a 0 value versus others show a blank value?
  • A 0 value means there is a defined value within the system.

Environment

  • Workforce Planning and Analytics

Cause

  • Current Configuration of system

Resolution

  • A 0 value means there is a defined value within the system.  In essence, there is data within the calculation but the calculation yields a 0 value.  A value of 0 is a result of 1. 0/any number or 2.  There is an assigned value o 0 in the database backend.  A blank cell means it is null, there is no defined value or no data.  A NULL value/blank cell is a result of either 1.  Any number divided by 0 (1/0, 10/0, 100/0, etc) or 2.  There is no data associated with the cell on the database backend.
