Resolution
Can we map to Job Title?
No. A possible work around for Job Title is to use a custom field for Job Title, copy into the custom field and then map to the custom field.
Can we map to other standard fields?
Yes. Any standard user information field could be used for mapping competencies, with the exception of Job Title
Can we map to custom fields?
In Job Profile Builder (JDMv2), we can add only 1 custom field next to a role since 2H 2024 Release.
For more information, check the section Job Code Association with Multiple Job Roles in the Job Profile Builder Implementation Guide.
Can we do this ourselves?
Yes. It will require basic understanding of how to configure templates in Admin Center > Manage Business Configuration.
For details on mapping Competencies, access the KBA 2086564 - Managing Competency Mappings Through Families and Roles - Competencies.
This feature is enabled automatically once it is configured for your Data Model. It's necessary to configure the "sysMappingDataTypes" template and inform the fields to expose for Role Mapping purposes. This is achieved by configuring a "view-template". Data Model code:
<view-template id="sysMappingDataTypes" visibility="none" pdf-printing-enabled="true">
This view-template is optional, as default configuration is job role mapping to Job Code. When this template is configured in your system, you can map a job role to any of the fields configured for the template.
NOTE: The configuration is not supported when Employee Central is enabled. By default Job Classification should be synced to Job Code.
Manage Competency tool
This new tool replaces the original Manage Competency tool if you're using OneAdmin. If you're using the original Admin Tools, you'll have the option to try the new tool under the same Manage Competency link. The new Manage Competency tool streamlines how you create or edit competencies. It's now easy to mark a competency as a Core Competency and have it automatically pulled into review forms.
You'll also be able to save copies of competencies, quickly see which job roles already include the competency, easily find links to import files, and easily access the Success Store for more content. The new Manage Competency tool supports all competencies and behaviors, but doesn't yet support Job Description Manager (JDM) content.
