2087224 - ORA-00020 although the number of processes/sessions have been increased

Symptom

  • Such errors are shown in the alert.log:
    ORA-00020: maximum number of processes (***) exceeded

  • Session monitor shows a great number of inactive processes and it grows steadily.

  • The following actions performed, however the problem not solved.
    • Parameters 'processes' and 'sessions' have been increased to large numbers but the issue is not solved.
    • Restarting the workprocesses by setting rdisp/wp_auto_restart is not helpful either.
