An explanation of the [[DOC_ACTION]] token used in email notification templates.

Environment

SAP SuccessFactors Performance Management

Resolution

The [[DOC_ACTION]] variable is typically used and found in the following email templates:

  • Document Routing Notification
  • Document Routing Skip Notification
  • 360 Document Evaluation Notification

Depending on the step routing, an email will be triggered with the variable being replaced with the appropriate verbiage:

  • It will say "approval" when it arrives in inbox in normal routing
  • It will say "review" when sent from a get feedback request
  • It will say "signature" when sent to the signature step
  • If rejected and sent back to person, it will say "modification"

  1. Please be advised that the document 2024 Annual Performance Review for Carla Grant is now available in your Inbox folder for your approval.
  2. Please be advised that the document 2024 Annual Performance Review for Carla Grant is now available in your Inbox folder for your review.
  3. Please be advised that the document 2024 Annual Performance Review for Carla Grant is now available in your Inbox folder for your signature.
  4. Please be advised that the document 2024 Annual Performance Review for Carla Grant has been reviewed and rejected by Carla Grant. The document is now in your Inbox folder for your modification.
