2088077 - How to customize / change labels in SAP SuccessFactors HCM Suite

• Is it possible to change a label from a specific language?
• How to change or customize a label?

SuccessFactors has the following features that can be used to customize labels:

• Text Replacement tool

  • It uses two keys in the language pack (TEXT_REPLACEMENT_KEYS and ADMIN_TEXT_REPLACEMENT_KEYS) for the UI labels that are to be customized.

  • Once custom values for the UI labels are saved on the text replacement page, the default values of the UI labels are replaced with the new values, wherever the UI labels are used in the application. When UI labels are customized in one language, the updates are applicable only for that language, and not for the other languages supported in the application.

• Manage Languages (old 3-tier Language Pack)
  • Manage Languages Feature can be accessed from Admin Center or through Provisioning (for Partners). The Manage Languages Feature is designed to work with currently supported languages only.

• Manage Templates
  • Manage Templates can be accessed from Admin Center. From there, different Forms can be selected to work on and edit the template.
  • From the template, there is a variation of options to customize labels for fields, descriptions and labels.

• Message Keys - Customization
  • A msgKey (Message Key) allows admins to define localized labels at the field level on Performance forms and 360 Review templates.

• Template Configuration Changes (Via SCR)
  • Some label changes that are not supported via the above options can be changed by our regular SCR (Software Change Request) process. In this case, Product Support will review if the required change is supported via our free change process. If none of the above options to change a label work for the requested change, create a case under LOD-SF-PLT-LAN component.
