Symptom

  • The DirectConnect log file shows one or more instances of message:

spid 0: #16315 srv__internal_read_packet: Protocol error occurred: length in header (30519) more than packet size(512)

  • In the RepServer errorlog:

srv__internal_read_packet: Protocol error occurred: length in header (12595) more than packet size(512)

  • The DirectConnect process may be terminated but this is not always seen.
