Symptom

  • When enabling a trace file for a process (spid) in the ASE server using the command "set tracefile '/<tracedir>/trace_file.trc' for <spid_number>"
  • The trace file size is limited to 2GB and the following error will be reported in ASE errorlog:

kernel  ufwrite: Failed to seek to offset -2147483632 in file /servcom/sybase/trace/M0123456_78.trc; system service error number is 22.
kernel  Cannot write in file ufwrite. Check the disk space and try again.
