2091589 - Incorrect formatting of CSV files for JDM imports results in bad data in the module - JDM

Symptom

  • This article explains what happens when bad data is in the JDM imports.

  • On some occasions, the client has loaded job descriptions into their JDM module, and later found that an apostrophe in the import file has been converted to a question mark (?) in the module.  They don't know why this is happening.

Environment

  • Job Description Manager

Resolution

  • This is caused by the type of file you select when creating the file.  If you save the file as a CSV (MS DOS),  the formatting of the file will result in apostrophes being converted to a question mark.  You must save the file as a CSV (Comma Delimited) to prevent this from happening.
