2091897 - Position Description Sync Style - JDM

Symptom

  • What type of sync options are available for job descriptions?

Environment

  • Job Description Manager

Resolution

Position Description Sync Style:

  • We can set one of the following sync types. This is typically done at the time of implementation and is not a setting that the client can change.

Total Sync Dynamic Sync Classic Sync

Classic Sync:
  • Provides the managers with the freedom to pick and choose the global job description changes, which they would like to absorb into the performance profile of their direct reports. Only the designated modifier in the route map will have access to both the edit and sync buttons for an individual employee's JD. There is no way to push out a revised JD administratively to the employee within this method. Syncing is done on a one-off basis.

Dynamic Sync:
  • Will hide the out of sync functionality from the users. The admin can push out a revised master JD to employees, and current individual JDs will be synced to the new master JD except for any changes authorized through the one-off change process. The employee will get all newly added elements, and for any elements that conflict with one-off changes, the one-off changes will override the master JD change.

Total Sync:
  • Will hide the out of sync functionality from the users. Every time there is an Admin change, the change will be directly pushed to the performance profile. All employees with that JD are automatically synced with the new version. One-off individual JDs are not allowed.
