2092812 - Using bcp to input to an ASE Proxy table mapped to ECDA causing memory leak on ECDA server. Use Express Transfer to load data instead.

Symptom

  • Loading data via the bcp (bulk copy protocol) utility by inputting to ASE proxy table.
  • ASE proxy table is mapped to ECDA, target is MSSQL Server.
  • When table data is sufficiently large volume, memory leak is detected on the direct process.
  • If data set is large enough the ECDA server will either hang or crash due to lack of memory resource.

  • ECDA 15.7 (SP03 in this particular case), running lon Windows 2008 R2, x64 (ECDA on windows is only 32-bit)
  • SAP ASE 15.7 - requries proxy table mapped to theECDA to target backend database
  • MSSQL Server 2008 R2 (backend server)
  • Windows 2008 R2 x64
