2095794 - Nameserver startup hangs due to socket wait

Symptom

Starting up the database does not work. When checking the current state of the database processes using command 'HDB info' it becomes clear that only the startup of the nameserver had been initiated:

The nameserver trace does neither report any progress nor is updated with new entries.

When investigating the call stack of the nameserver, for example by creating an rtedump against the nameserver process as outlined in SAP Note 1813020, the following stack can be seen:
