Symptom

After ASE reboot, the "WARNING: pci_malloc; forwarded size ... exceeding max request size ... " message is received,  for example:

 kernel  ASE booted on Windows 2003 build 3790 Service Pack 2. 
 ...
 server  ASE's default sort order is:
 server   'nocase_cp850' (ID = 42)
 server  on top of default character set:
 server   'cp850' (ID = 2).
 kernel  PCI(M1): PCI Bridge Config: Starting dynamic PCI Bridge configuration.
 ...
 kernel  PCI(M1): -> PCA/JVM Signature cache is enabled (max grow size 512 Kbyte.)
 kernel  PCI(M1): -> PCA/JVM Bootstrapping the native Java VM
 kernel  PCI(T1): WARNING: pci_malloc; forwarded size 1577962 exceeding max request size 1048528 to the run-time for thread 3436
 kernel  PCI(T1): ERROR: pci_malloc; Requested size 1577962 exceeds max request size 1048528
 kernel  ASE PCA integrated JVM is 'JNI_VERSION_1_6' compliant
 server  Java services initialized.
