2096127 - SUM: The system description in the provided stack.xml does not match your system

Symptom

  • During an upgrade or update, the Software Update Manager stops with the following error below.
[Error ]: The system description in the provided stack.xml does not match your system. In the stack, the described release 740 is different from release 731, which is detected in your system. Generate a new stack.xml that matches your system

  • Note: While the Java Support Package Manager (JSPM) has been replaced by the Software Update Manager (SUM), the SUM still uses JSPM functionality as part of the update /upgrade procedure and as such it is required.
  • All Netweaver AS Java maintenance scenarios should be performed using SUM unless otherwise directed. Additional information on the replacement of JSPM can be found in SAP Note 1589311 and the document "JSPM_support_strategy.pdf" attached to it.
  • The latest SUM version is available with SL Toolset 1.0 on the SAP Service Marketplace at: http://support.sap.com/sltoolset -> Software Logistics Toolset 1.0.

  • The error may also happen to the other target level, for example: The system description in the provided stack.xml does not match your system. In the stack, the described release 740 is different from release 750, which is detected in your system. Generate a new stack.xml that matches your system.
