2096799 - Deletion of Task Service Not Permitted Confirmations Already Exist

While deleting an assigned service in a Project, the system throws an error message Deletion of task service not permitted; confirmations already exist.

SAP Business ByDesign

1. Go to Project Management work center.
2. Choose the Projects view
3. Choose Projects subview
4. Choose the project XYZ and Edit -> Project Plan button
5. Go to the tab Work here you can see Delete button is enabled but when you choose the Delete button, system throws the error message Deletion of task service not permitted; confirmations already exist.

Ideally in case of Standard Projects when time confirmations (Actual Work) exist against a service the Delete button is grayed out for that service. However in order to delete the service the actual time confirmation performed against the service need to be cancelled. Once the time confirmations are canalled the Delete button will be enabled and you will be able to cancel the service.

 In case of Migrated Project after the cancellation of time confirmations the Delete button will be enabled. However when you try to delete the service still system throws an error message Deletion of task service not permitted; confirmations already exist, because in case of migrated projects we cannot delete the service even if all time confirmations were cancelled.

To check the time confirmation cancelation follow the below given steps.

1. Go to Project management work center
2. Choose the Projects view
3. Choose Time and Expenses subview
4. Search for the  Project Task XYZ for which the service is assigned.
5. Here you can see Employee for which the service is assigned and associated time confirmations for which the Canceled check box is enabled

The system works as designed.
